German State concern for “A Koran in every home” campaign exposes misguided security concern

victims1

A Muslim preacher in Germany wants to give out 25 million Korans. No big deal, you say? Well - it is a B-I-G deal and the making of a "Koran in every home" campaign of a German Muslim preacher into a "national security threat" was actually quite predictable. The "act of aggression" (as the campaign has been called by members of the Angela Merkel's own party) stems from the growing anti-Muslim bias in Western security and intelligence services that label religious and political activities by Muslims as "radicalization" and elevates innocent and legally protected activities to the level of "national security threat." The problem here is the security and terrorism discourse that continues to define innocent activities by Muslims as "threats." Part of this discourse is to turn crimes committed by Muslims into "terrorism" and now "lone wolf jihad." The response, as discussed in spades here, is treat Muslim communities as "suspect communities" and undermine human rights of European Muslims.

Queen Beatrix visits Saudi Arabia – PVV shows anti Dutch colors!

A wonderful statement for the Dutch nation and its traditions was made today by Queen Beatrix on her visit to Saudi Arabia. Beatrix and Maxima were wearing headscarves on their visit to mosque, but they also paid respect to the Dutch tradition of tolerance, respect and understanding. The message Beatrix left was also one of tolerance, respect and understanding, representing the best of the Dutch nation. In her visit, Beatrix also demonstrated that she is head of state and queen for all Dutch people, including Dutch followers of Islam. Beatrix must have known that her brave visit and actions would cause trouble with the anti-Dutch PVV and Geert Wilders. The House of Orange was against the Spanish rule in the 1500s and today it faces Geert Wilders and the PVV rule. We must admire Queen Beatrix’s brave and courageous stand to represent Dutch traditions and tolerance in Saudi Arabia.

Germany could be a lesson for other European nations

We have again that problem of Nazis in Germany. The presence of Nazis in Germany says nothing about Germany and leaving behind its Nazi past. Germany, unlike the Netherlands, has laws and policies in place to deal with radicalized Nazi terrorists and must be called to protect its constitutional and democratic order by banning "political parties" that are a threat. Germany has the responsibility to protect minority communities from terrorism and must place this responsibility along side of protecting its constructional order from Nazis and anti-Muslim extremists. Other European nations should start protecting its minority communities from both radical right terrorists and dangerous political parties.

Wise Egypt: Egypt denies visa to PVVer !

This week the Egyptians denied an entrance visa to a PVV Brownshirt that was supposed to be on a "Tweede Kamer visit." Well, it's good to see that the Egyptians are wise with regard to the purposes of such a visit - which were probably for the purposes of Islamophobic propaganda and promotion of religious conflict. As I have written here before, Dutch foreign policy and activism in the international system is now being shaped on Huntington "clash" viewpoints and the crackpot notions of Pim Fortuyn - and a foreign policy shaped in this way is only intended to promote conflict. It is good that the Egyptians can see this, and it's hoped that other rational nations can follow suit and deny entrance of PVVers and other radicals into their soils! GOOD FOR EGYPT! The truth is that until there is regime change in the Netherlands, the Dutch should not be allowed to be a part of any efforts in the Arab Spring or human rights activism.
