Young Arab democracies need European Union help

n519375595_7628

The religious violence in the young Egyptian democracy is a sign that there is work that especially the European Union needs to undertake. The work should be a teaching moment for Egypt, not a chance by those (Uri Rosenthal) to promote Islamophobia, "clash of civilizations" foreign policy - and exclusive human rights activism that cares only for religious minorities and conveniently forgets the human rights of Muslims. What the EU is capable of doing is leaving group blame of all 1.5 billion Muslims, while working with young Arab democracies, like Egypt. The EU knows how to leave out the Islamophobia and "clash of civilizations" where Member States like the Netherlands cannot envision a rational foreign and human rights policy without Islamophobia. Only the European Union can help young Arab democracies and only the European Union should lead the way!

Uri Rosenthal proves me right on Dutch foreign policy

I predicted Dutch trouble-making in the EU and its role in the Middle East peace process. The stunt pulled Uri Rosenthal in sapping a European Union opinion of the status of Palestine demonstrates how the fair-minded Dutch policies are become fanatic pro-Israel and more like the "clash of civilizations" thesis. The Netherlands is not only a radicalized nation, but its foreign policies that promote clash with "Muslim" nations and Israel are dangerous. We need regime change in The Hague!

Wear my ACLU tee-shirt tomorrow, September 11, 2011!

I will wear my ACLU shirt on the 10th anniversary of the 9-11 attacks. This is a statement against the abuses that the 9-11 excuse have brought. The September 11th attacks mark not just a horrible attack, but the real onslaught against our freedom, liberties and human rights. It also marked an onslaught against the human rights instruments and institutions Europe built after WWII to protect individuals against government abuses. While the September 11 is a National Day of Service and Remembrance - it should also be an International Day for the Fight for Human Rights.

Norway vows to defend our shared values – European nations should follow.

from webcam

The attack on Norway was an attack on our shared values, on genuine European values, that were built after WWII, and intended to build peaceful relations. We will not stand for appeasement of the same intolerant radical right that has attacked Norway and our shared values. Norway has taken its country back! Yes - Norway has taken its country back, but we must also take Europe back from this radical right, Islamophobic extremist threat! We will NOT return to the Crusades! We will NOT return to the 11th century! We will NOT take to ethnic cleansing! We will NOT bring back religious persecution! We will certainly NOT return to gas and ovens, mass murder and mass graves for anyone! The message from Norway and echoed by all of us: They want us to be scared – and we refuse to not only be scared – we will fight to preserve our shared values! Tolerance, human rights, inclusive society and world peace WILL triumph!
