Part Two: Volkskrant and it’s shameless “standing for (Dutch misconceived) free expression”

pvv.page

Volkskrant, (a former Catholic pillar newspaper that is pro-Wilders) shows no shame or fear of stigma for itself or its advertisers when it chose to run the PVV’s “Polish immigrant hotline” advertisements. Rather than shame and stigma for itself and its advertisers, the editors of Volkskrant are likely to pat themselves on the back as“free speech heroes.” However, “free speech protection” is actually in relation to individuals, groups and governments, not between private persons and groups. Here is where the Fortuynian conception of “free speech respect” is all wrong! For example, calling on boycotts of Volkskrant’s advertisers is not “anti-free speech,” but the right of free speech on the part of those calling for a boycott. Persons and groups have the right of free speech to call on others to not buy products advertised on Volkskrant’s website or newspaper. It is also the free speech right of persons and groups to call Volkskrant (rightfully in my view) a “pro-Wilders, xenophobic, hate-mongering newspaper that probably has Nazis as readers.”

Polish Immigrant Hotline: Geert Wilders and the PVV shame the Netherlands again!

pvv.page

We have sat and watched how Geert Wilders and his PVV “political party” have again embarrassed the Netherlands with a webpage-hotline that is intended to “report bad behavior of Polish immigrants.” This action by the PVV has now angered many in Europe, especially from the East European nations that have citizens living and working in the Netherlands. This is more Fortuyn inspired nonsense and yet another action to drag down the Netherlands and its international standing to the mud. “Nederland is vol” is back and it is hurting the view of the Netherlands in the European Union and as a civilized nation. There is a need to challenge the Dutch nation from the outside, as the Dutch political system and the pro-Wilders Dutch media stand in the way. European nations must care other European nations in the interest of European peace and security. Human rights in European nations are not just for EU citizens and non-Muslims. Most of all, we need to call on the Dutch to return to their once great and admired national character.

The origins of Cameron’s troublemaking in the European Union

Europe and the world are "shocked" by the selfishness of the David Cameron's "veto," but this can be understood from the view of being a Thatcherite that is naturally hostile to the European project. There has always been a hate and mistrust of the European project because it is seen as trampling on the US “special relationship.” It's not only selfishness, but playing games that hinder the progress of the European project is also a stock-and-trade of this ilk. This serves to preserve the “special relationship” between mainly the UK and the US by sabotaging the EU whenever possible. The UK will be excluded, which is something that this ilk wants and has longed for. Atlanticism is of greater value than the European project to Thatcher, Cameron and Rutte. Even with the UK out, the second hard-line Atlanticist country is the Netherlands and it has all the tools to play more Thatcherite games without the UK inside of the EU.

Germany could be a lesson for other European nations

We have again that problem of Nazis in Germany. The presence of Nazis in Germany says nothing about Germany and leaving behind its Nazi past. Germany, unlike the Netherlands, has laws and policies in place to deal with radicalized Nazi terrorists and must be called to protect its constitutional and democratic order by banning "political parties" that are a threat. Germany has the responsibility to protect minority communities from terrorism and must place this responsibility along side of protecting its constructional order from Nazis and anti-Muslim extremists. Other European nations should start protecting its minority communities from both radical right terrorists and dangerous political parties.

Young Arab democracies need European Union help

n519375595_7628

The religious violence in the young Egyptian democracy is a sign that there is work that especially the European Union needs to undertake. The work should be a teaching moment for Egypt, not a chance by those (Uri Rosenthal) to promote Islamophobia, "clash of civilizations" foreign policy - and exclusive human rights activism that cares only for religious minorities and conveniently forgets the human rights of Muslims. What the EU is capable of doing is leaving group blame of all 1.5 billion Muslims, while working with young Arab democracies, like Egypt. The EU knows how to leave out the Islamophobia and "clash of civilizations" where Member States like the Netherlands cannot envision a rational foreign and human rights policy without Islamophobia. Only the European Union can help young Arab democracies and only the European Union should lead the way!
