The Dutch government’s hypocritical statement on “gagging Wilders.”

In Engles

Today, the Dutch government placed a statement on its English website (without a page) claiming that it will not "gag Wilders" and that the Netherlands "enjoys freedom of expression and attaches great value to it." RUBBISH! If a Muslim, especially a pious follower of Islam, tried to "enjoy freedom of expression" as non-Muslims do -- he would be branded a "radical" for doing so - and might be subjected to so-called "Personal Disruption Measures." This statement is the height of hypocrisy given the Number One threat to the Dutch democratic order continues to be the PVV "political party" and Geert Wilders, who also continues to associate himself with American based hate groups. PART ONE: The statement on the Dutch government's website and the hypocrisy of for Dutch Muslims. PART TWO: Geert Wilders and his PVV "political party" as an exceptional to AIVD "Tasks" and no concern about US radical right hate groups Wilders associates with.

Islam has nothing to do with violence against the Coptic Church in Egypt!

one_egypt

The reality is that Islam has nothing to do with the sectarian violence. The violence has more to do with lack of security and pubic order in Egypt. What is needed are the establishment of the rule of law, including civil rights and criminal laws enforceable through courts. We should not expect Egypt to become a democratic nation overnight and to not go without some growing pains. The international community needs to take more of an active role toward a democratic future for Egypt.

Europe’s militarization of natural human migration

gaddaffi1

While the noble ideas of "bringing democracy" and "protecting civilians" are the reasons for European military action against the Muammar Gaddafi regime - the real reason could be the so-called "immigration threat" from Africa. Europeans have now entered a new and dangerous level of the growing securitization of immigration - going to war against nations outside of Europe to "stem an immigration emergency."

Good for France, UK, and US against Gaddafi

Rafale-ec-1-7

The largely French-led action against Gaddafi, with participation by the US, is the right thing to do that is neither illegal, nor an "invasion."

When is the time for the EU to act?

United_Nations_Security_Council

We should have thought the the Lisbon Treaty would embolden the European Union to develop its defense and military capabilities. The case of Libya could have advanced the EU's common security and defense policies. We are waiting - but could the UN resolution authorizing a no fly zone help push the EU in the right direction? Can we actually trust a ceasefire claim from Gaddafi?
