EDL not wanted in Amsterdam
The good people of Amsterdam - including the Ajax football club - made the EDL's support protest a fizzle, and this was due to the duplication of solidarity and a peaceful counter protest to the EDL that had over 1000 people.

The Divine Right of European Voters
The kings of Europe used to have the "divine right" to rule as appointees of God. This meant that, even if wrong, the king and his Godly decisions had to be obeyed.Well - gone are the divine rights of kings, but replaced with the Divine Right of European Voters. What this means (facetiously) means that no human rights of especially minorities are safe from "divine decisions" made by European voters. European Voters also have the divine right to call hate groups "political parties" and threaten the rights of other groups. In reality, Europe has neglected to use human rights instruments to control and abolish this tyrannical "right."

Islamophobia, human rights, and the Council of Europe
The disease of Islamophobia - and we know that in the Netherlands - it is acceptable to have an "anti-Islam" party, much to the same of a good majority of Dutch people. There is starting to be a turning in the Council of Europe, which could be seen as contributing to Islamophobia. The CoE advocates the criminalization of hate speech, including against Muslims - but more action is needed - soon - against turning back legitimacy and acceptance of "anti-Islam" politics in the Netherlands and the growing legitimacy and acceptance such hateful politics elsewhere.

Netherlands draws eye of Council of Europe
The shameful, but predictable reaction against the Netherlands is now starting, most notably, from the Council of Europe. In the current atmosphere of going against France with regard to the Roma - human rights institutions in Europe need to make minority rights of all Priority One for the next few years. With the amount of radical Islamophobic and extreme -right parties making great gains, the European Union especially needs to gear up and power up to fight for human rights from all minorities. Include in that sanctions - and I'd like to see sanctions against the Netherlands to squeeze the Pim Fortyum out of PVV voters!
