Future response to the “Sharia: The Threat to America” rubbish planned

Freedom is for everyone - including Muslims!

I have just taken a look at the 170+ page paper “Shariah: The Threat to America” and I am VERY sure that I can offer a good rebuttal to this rubbish. Right now- it appears that there are some concessions to the idea that not all forms of shariah law are the authoritarian versions of Iran and Saudi Arabia. Page 6-7:
First, the shariah adherents who comprise the supremacist camp constitute a mainstream and dynamic movement in Islam. Importantly, that characterization does not speak to the question of whether this camp is or is not representative of the “true Islam.” There are over a billion Muslims in the world, and their understandings about their belief-system, as well as their practices with respect to it, vary. In light of this, there may not be a single “true Islam.” If there is one, we do not presume to pronounce what it holds.

Generally, this report engages in the same “well not all Muslims,” but then uses generalizations that lend to demonization of all Muslims. There is the usual use of single cases to liken all Muslims as mass shooters or airliner bombers, with little connections to the vast ways Shariah is practiced today.This report also leads itself wide open for attack on the use of the Islamisation/Islamification and “Eurabia” myths, both of are related and both can be proven to be false. Through out this entire document, there appears to be the building of justification to limited the religious, political and social freedoms of American Muslims. The are a lot of Wildersisms (Geert Wilders’ ideology) that promote the notion is “Islam is an ideology” and that limiting the freedoms and liberties enjoyed by Muslims is “defending freedom.” These ideas are, in fact, anti-freedom and anti-human rights, and will result in the loss of basic freedom, perhaps social exclusion and violence, for millions of Muslims and perhaps people who are of the political left.This report is what I have been telling many folks out there. There is increasing radical Islamophobia in Western security studies, and for the sake of our freedom we must vigorously oppose this type of ideology. The reality is that this “Team B’ are the most dangerous lot to come down the pipe since the National Socialists of Germany.Daniel Luban’s article at Islamophobia Today is titled “Top Conservatives Support anti-Muslim Inquisition” – and, as with PVV policies and the Swiss minaret ban – theses security policy proposals are a grave threat to our freedoms and use the mythology of Eurabia as justification. What the authors of “Shariah: The Threat to America” is to further actions against all Muslim nation, no matter how democratic they are, like Morocco and Turkey, and to demonize and oppress Muslims at home.Right now – the threat imposed by Geert Wilders and the threat that this ilk imposes over freedom and democracy in the Netherlands is of prime importance right now in my work. Defense of the Netherlands from this ilk is of prime importance. We must all work to alert the world of what is happening in the Netherlands. I am just about finished with my first publication that will be mailed to US Congress and national embassies in the Netherlands, among some of those on my mailing list.
