The European Union as a peace broker …
The former Finnish president, Martti Ahtisaari, believes that the European Union does not do enough to promote peace. A European Institute for Peace could go a long way toward giving the Union the needed expertise it needs. Mr.Ahtisaari said to the European Parliament that the Union has the machinery to be a peace maker.
